How to Apply

Student should submit one set of the following documents by registered post or courier and one set of digital copies before the deadline.

1. Completed and signed Application Forms(Tsinghua Application Form) with photo
2. Copy of degree/diplomas certificate
3. Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate institutions
4. Two recommendation letters
5. Resume
6. Statement of Purpose
7. Copy of passport
8. For non-English speaking students, please provide English level certificates. e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, etc. No requirement for Chinese language proficiency.
9. Official certificate of financial support of at least USD 20,000.00 issued by bank
10. Non-refundable of application fee of RMB 600.
The certificates provided should be the original documents in Chinese or in English, otherwise notarized translations in Chinese or English are required. Application material will not be returned.
*The applicants need to complete On-line Application first, on the website of Foreign Student Affairs Office, Tsinghua University (http://intlstudent.cic.tsinghua.edu.cn). The On-line Application System produces The Application Form after all the information needed is provided. Then, the applicants shall submit the whole package of application materials, including the signed hardcopy of The Application Form, to the address indicated below.
You could pay by:
* Cash: we recommend candidates pay by cash. Candidates may send the equivalent amount of money in cash ( USD 85 or Euro 60) with your application by courier; or
* Bank draft payable to Tsinghua University, noted MA GBJ application fee and your name or

For those who apply by post in China: Transfer by China Post is accepted. Remember to write the name and passport number as the message.

Admission Process

Admission will be made through a competitive selection process.
The Admission Committee will take into consideration of a number of factors in evaluating each applicant’s eligibility and qualification, including but not limited to prior academic performance, professional experience, and contribution to the community. An interview will be conducted in certain circumstances. Those selected for interview can come to the school in person or the school will call the telephone number that is provided in application forms).
All application documents sent via air mail MUST be received by the Office 302, Omnicom Building, School of Journalism and Communication, Tsinghua University, 100084 Beijing, China by the application deadline.

Enrollment
The applicants admitted should bring Passport, Admission Letter, Visa Application Form for Foreigners Wishing to Study in China, Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners and Blood Test Record to the embassy and consulates of the People Republic of China in respective countries and apply for an “X” visa. Students must register before the deadline at the International Students Affairs Office and get the Residence Permit
within 30 days after they enter China.

Fees
Tuition fee for 2009 Entry is RMB 30,000 per year.

Scholarship
International students are encouraged to explore all financial aids and scholarships available to them in their home country.
International applicants are eligible for a variety of scholarships and internships with funding from the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC), Beijing Municipal Government, and Tsinghua University Applicants should submit scholarship application materials together with program application material to the school. Furth more, all enrolled international students are eligible to apply for several kinds of merit-based scholarships and internships after a period of study at Tsinghua.
