Journalism and Communication Programs at Tsinghua

The Tsinghua School of Journalism and Communication (TSJC) is internationally recognized as one of the best journalism programs in China. Since its founding in 2002, the school has been at the forefront of both journalism education and press reform in China.

Journalism has a rich history at Tsinghua. Professor Liang Qichao, who introduced the subject at Tsinghua in the 1920s, is known as the founding father of Chinese newspapers. TSJC's faculty includes respected scholars and practitioners who have won a number of national teaching awards. The school's approach to journalism combines the best of both scholarship and practical experience across a range of media, including print, broadcast and digital. Students develop skills in research and analysis, writing and reporting.

TSJC students have gone on to further study in journalism and other subjects, as well as careers in a wide variety of fields. Among employers who have hired TSJC graduates are Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, Reuters, the Associated Press, People's Daily, China Daily, the Washington Post, National People's Radio, China Central Television, China Mobile, Bank of China, Boston Consulting, the State Council Information Office and others in media, industry and government.
